Law360, New York (May 02, 2012, 3:46 PM ET) -- Prosecutors have charged more than 100 individuals in connection with $450 million of Medicare fraud, federal officials said Wednesday, marking the heftiest single-day bust for a strike force tasked with neutralizing a major threat to the program’s financial health.
Arrests took place in major cities nationwide, including Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit. Alleged crimes include violations of anti-kickback statutes and money laundering, and medical practices involved run the gamut from psychotherapy to equipment sales.
