Law360, New York (May 14, 2012, 9:45 PM ET) -- The defense spending bill in the current House Armed Services Committee markup contains several provisions to boost small business participation in defense contracting and tighten rules on agency insourcing, the committee's chairman said Monday.
The 2013 National Defense Authorization Act, published last week, says the DOD must publish cost evaluations underlying its insourcing decisions and must protect small businesses from adverse impacts, according to Rep. Buck McKeon, R-Calif. The bill also aims to streamline acquisition processes to create more opportunities for small businesses.
