Lawmakers Blast DOD, Contractor Over $1B Billing Dispute

Law360, New York (May 24, 2012, 4:26 PM ET) -- A billing battle over $1 billion escalated Thursday as a pair of lawmakers demanded documents related to a private contract for food supplies to troops in Afghanistan.

First revealed last year, the dispute pits a unit of Amsterdam-based Supreme Group BV, which delivers sustenance to the battlefield under a long-running contract, against the Defense Logistics Agency, a unit of the U.S. Department of Defense that sources essential supplies for the war effort.
