Law360, New York (August 24, 2012, 7:57 PM ET) -- New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Friday vetoed a bill that would require the city's Department of Housing Preservation and Development to disclose detailed information about its selection of developers and the wages for contractors working on developments of affordable housing units.
The mayor vetoed the Housing Preservation and Development Transparency Bill, which the city council had passed 45-0 last month. Bloomberg said the bill would impose an unnecessary layer of red tape that would delay new affordable housing projects in the city.
