Law360, Washington (September 27, 2012, 4:48 PM ET) -- The Sixth Circuit upheld a Medicare fraudster's conviction on Thursday, ruling that a lower court appropriately allowed evidence of the defendant's involvement in prior Medicare schemes and dismissed a juror just before deliberations in the case began.
Juan De Oleo was convicted in 2010 of Medicare fraud, conspiracy to commit Medicare fraud and money laundering for his role in a $2.3 million scheme to set up a fake outpatient clinic in Michigan and receive Medicare payments for nonexistent services.
