Financial Penalties Didn't Improve Hospital Care: Study

Law360, New York (October 11, 2012, 7:08 PM ET) -- A Medicare program that aimed to reduce hospital-acquired infections by refusing to pay for their care did nothing to lower infection rates at U.S. hospitals, according to a study published Thursday, suggesting that health officials may need to reconsider their strategies for improving care.
