As DOE Wraps Stimulus Projects, GAO Eyes Cost Management

Law360, New York (October 15, 2012, 8:20 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Energy has spent $5.6 billion of its $6 billion in funds from the 2009 stimulus bill, most of it on hiring contractors to clean up nuclear contamination at research laboratories, but the agency's ability to estimate and manage costs remains underdeveloped, the U.S. Government Accountability Office reported Monday.
