Law360, New York (February 15, 2013, 4:16 PM ET) -- A purchaser for the U.S. Postal Service pled guilty Thursday to taking about $40,000 in bribes to steer $6 million in contracts to a Rockland, Md.-based information technology firm.
Gene Quarles, 47, admitted to a charge of bribery of a public official before U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III in Virginia federal court. Prosecutors said he took payments to help USPS contractor AH Computer Consulting Inc. secure contracts reportedly worth $6 million.
