Cable TV Giants Have Carved Up NYC, Lawyer Group Says

Law360, New York (May 01, 2013, 2:31 PM ET) -- Franchise agreements New York City has entered into with telecommunications giants Verizon Communications Inc., TimeWarner Cable Inc. and Cablevision Systems Corp. may have left consumers without enough competitive choice, the New York City Bar Association said Tuesday.

The 23,000-lawyer bar association made the comments in a sweeping policy document full of suggestions for the city's next mayor that includes recommendations for making the city more green; maintaining the independence of judges and putting a fleet of taxis on the streets that is accessible to disabled people.  ...
