Bipartisan Bill Requires Public Access To Agencies' R&D

Law360, New York (September 23, 2013, 7:46 PM ET) -- Two U.S. representatives unveiled a bipartisan bill Thursday that would open up scientific research funded by four federal agencies to the public, saying the measure would foster technological innovation and introduce accountability into federal R&D investments.

The Public Access to Public Science Act would force the NASA, the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Standards and Technology and the National Weather Service to promulgate public access policies making published, peer-reviewed results of government-funded research projects available in a freely accessible repository.
