NJ, Fla. To Get Slices Of $22M Genzyme FCA Settlement

Law360, New York (March 12, 2014, 5:48 PM EDT) -- The state of New Jersey has joined a $22 million settlement to resolve former Genzyme Corp. employees' False Claims Act allegations in Florida federal court that the company marketed its Seprafilm adhesion barrier for unapproved uses, Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman said Wednesday.
New Jersey will receive $102,000 and Florida will get $85,553 in restitution and other recoveries carved out in the settlement, which will resolve claims in a pair of whistleblower lawsuits brought by former Genzyme employees and a doctor. According to the U.S....
