GAO Rejects Protest Of $94M US Navy Carrier Contract

Law360, New York (June 10, 2014, 2:56 PM ET) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office denied a bid protest by Vigor Shipyards Inc. over a $94 million U.S. Navy aircraft carrier services contract awarded to a General Dynamics unit, ruling that the service didn’t improperly revise a government estimate in General Dynamics’ favor.

Vigor contended that the Navy revised an independent government estimate in order to find the proposed costs in General Dynamics NASSCO-Earl Industries’ contract bid realistic and dismiss Vigor’s bid, but the revision was meant to ensure the estimate reflected the contract's actual requirements,...
