Law360, New York (January 09, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Congress has not made significant changes to the federal False Claims Act[1] (“the FCA”) in more than 20 years. Even so, the federal government has used the Act effectively to recoup over $21 billion during that time period.
During Fiscal Year 2008 alone, the federal government collected some $1.34 billion, with a large portion of those collections coming from pharmaceutical manufacturers.
