Philadelphia At Center Of State Yaz Litigation

Law360, New York (September 17, 2009, 6:04 PM ET) -- A Pennsylvania state court judge has decided to consolidate all lawsuits alleging Bayer Corp.'s popular Yaz and Yasmin oral contraceptives caused death and injury in its users, making Philadelphia the likeliest spot to serve as headquarters for all future state court litigation over the oral contraceptives.

Judge Sandra Mazer Moses of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas opted Sept. 16 to throw the suits involving Pennsylvania state law claims together, making it the logical venue for others to file in as well.
