Cordis Appeals $22M Verdict In Stent Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 28, 2009, 12:14 PM ET) -- Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Cordis Corp. has appealed a $22 million verdict for Spectralytics Inc. in a patent infringement dispute between the medical device makers over a stent-cutting machine, on the heels of Cordis' victory in another stent patent suit.

Cordis and its co-defendant, stent manufacturer Norman Noble Inc., filed notice of their appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota on Friday.
