Carilion Backtracks In $20M Acquisition Of Clinics

Law360, New York (October 08, 2009, 12:50 PM ET) -- Health care provider Carilion Clinic has agreed to sell off two outpatient medical centers it acquired for $20 million last year, addressing the Federal Trade Commission's concerns that the deal eliminated vital competition and would lead to an increase in health care costs for Virginia residents.

The FTC said Wednesday that the Virginia-based company had signed off on a proposed consent order settling the agency’s charges that the acquisitions violated federal antitrust laws.
