Pfizer Prempro Verdict Rumored To Be $75M

Law360, New York (November 04, 2009, 5:11 PM ET) -- While the verdict officially remains under wraps, word is spreading that a Pennsylvania jury has ordered Pfizer Inc. to fork over $75 million in punitive damages to a woman who developed invasive breast cancer after she began taking the popular menopause drug Prempro.

On Wednesday, Bloomberg News reported that the jury in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas awarded bellwether plaintiff Connie Barton $75 million in punitive damages at the end of October, citing people who had seen the sealed verdict.
