AstraZeneca, Teva Settle Heartburn Drug Patent Suits

Law360, New York (January 07, 2010, 6:11 PM ET) -- AstraZeneca AB and Teva Pharmaceuticals Ltd. have settled patent litigation over the Israeli generic-drug maker's versions of blockbuster heartburn medications Nexium and Prilosec, according to the companies.

The deals will allow Teva to continue to market its generic version of Prilosec in the U.S. and to start offering generic Nexium in May 2014, according to separate statements from the companies issued Thursday.
