Law360, New York (March 01, 2010, 2:41 PM ET) -- Merck KGaA has agreed to acquire biotechnology company Millipore Corp. for $7.2 billion, a move the German pharmaceutical giant says will bolster its laboratory equipment business.
Under the terms of the deal, announced Sunday, Merck will acquire all outstanding shares of Billerica, Mass.-based Millipore for $107 per share in cash, according to the companies.
The transaction has already received the blessing of boards of directors for both companies, they added.
