Law360, New York (December 20, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- A California health care workers union agreed on a contract with Prison Health Services Inc. on Tuesday, avoiding a strike and improving staffing conditions for health care workers in two Northern California prisons.
The Service Employees International Union United Healthcare Workers – West, which counts the 120 nurses, physician assistants, medical records clerks, technicians and other health care workers at the Santa Rita and Glenn E. Dyer jails as members, had bargained with PHS since their contract expired on August 10.
