Law360, New York (March 05, 2010, 7:04 PM ET) -- AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP has won summary judgment in a case brought against the company for not including warnings on its local anesthetic bupivacaine that the drug should not be used with a pain pump.
AstraZeneca can't be held liable for the injury Jensen Meharg, a high school athlete whose shoulder cartilage was destroyed after she used bupivacaine with a pain pump manufactured by I-Flow Corp., Judge William T. Lawrence ruled Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
