Jury Awards Boehringer $7M In Patent Suit Vs. Schering-Plough

Law360, New York (June 03, 2004, 12:00 AM ET) -- A federal jury has awarded Boehringer-Ingelheim $7 million plus interest in its patent lawsuit against Schering-Plough Corp. over swine vaccines.

The jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey awarded the amount based on a prior decision finding infringement of a Boehringer-Ingelheim patent in 2000, according to Schering-Plough.

The jury found that the Schering-Plough’s PRIME PAC PRRS (Porcine Respiratory and Reproductive Syndrome) vaccine infringed a patent owned by Boehringer-Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc.
