Law360, New York (January 10, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives are scheduled Friday to consider – and likely pass – legislation that would allow the government to negotiate with drug companies to get lower Medicare drug prices.
The party is focused on how the 2003 Medicare law prohibits the government from negotiating with pharmaceutical companies to decrease drug costs for beneficiaries. The Democrats have said that drug companies are making money off of American seniors.
