Forest, Orchid Resolve Namenda Patent Fight

Law360, New York (April 28, 2010, 2:47 PM ET) -- Indian drugmaker Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has settled a patent infringement suit filed by Forest Laboratories Inc. over Orchid's plan to make a generic version of lucrative Alzheimer's drug Namenda.

Judge Mary L. Cooper of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey approved a stipulation dismissing the case without prejudice on Monday. In the stipulation, Orchid admitted that the abbreviated new drug application it filed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for generic Namenda infringed Forest's patent on the drug....
