Law360, New York (June 17, 2010, 1:46 PM ET) -- AstraZeneca PLC is likely to face more generic competition over Nexium in Canada now that a federal court has refused to block Apotex Inc. from launching a copycat version of the heartburn drug.
The British drug manufacturer said Thursday that the Federal Court of Canada had rejected its bid to bar Health Canada from issuing a notice of compliance for the regulatory application for generic Nexium, or esomeprazole magnesium, proposed by Toronto-based Apotex.
