Law360, New York (June 17, 2010, 7:19 PM ET) -- A federal judge ruled Thursday that an Infosint SA patent related to the manufacture of antidepressant citalopram was invalid, throwing out an earlier $15 million infringement verdict against defendants H. Lundbeck A/S and Forest Laboratories Inc.
Judge Lewis Kaplan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted the defendants judgment as a matter of law, finding Infosint's patent for the synthesis of a chemical compound used in making citalopram invalid due to obviousness.
