Feds Eyeing SciClone For Possible FCPA Violations

Law360, New York (August 10, 2010, 5:11 PM ET) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has launched a formal probe into SciClone Pharmaceuticals Inc., and the U.S. Department of Justice has asked for a meeting with the company regarding its compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

SciClone said in a quarterly report filed with the SEC on Monday that it has received a subpoena from the SEC and a letter from the DOJ, both of which relate to investigations concerning SciClone's sale, licensing and marketing of its products in foreign countries, including China....
