Gore-Tex Maker Sued Over Surgical Material

Law360, New York (March 06, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Surgical device maker Synovis Life Technologies Inc. filed suit against W.L. Gore & Associates Inc. Monday claiming that the maker of Gore-Tex fabric infringed its patent for material used to seal circular surgical staple lines.

In a suit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, Synovis alleged that surgical staple buttress material sold by Gore infringed its patent entitled, “circular stapler buttress combination,” U.S. Patent No. 7,128,748.
