Law360, New York (October 13, 2010, 6:38 PM ET) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Wednesday let stand a lower court ruling that invalidated three Howmedica Osteonics Corp. polymers patents that are at the center of an infringement lawsuit, handing a victory to defendants Zimmer Inc. and Smith & Nephew Inc.
Less than a week after the case was argued, a three-judge appeals panel issued a brief per curiam opinion affirming a 2007 ruling by the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
