Shire Sues Mylan Over Intuniv Patents

Law360, New York (April 21, 2011, 2:01 PM ET) -- Shire LLC filed a patent infringement suit against Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. on Wednesday in West Virginia federal court over the generic-drug maker’s bid to produce a version of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder drug Intuniv.

Shire claims that Mylan recently filed a request with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to produce a generic version of Intuniv in 4-milligram tablets before the expiration of U.S. Patent Numbers 6,287,599 and 6,811,794, which cover the drug.
