Lundbeck Loses U.K. Patent Case Over Cipralex

Law360, New York (May 07, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Danish pharmaceutical company H. Lundbeck A/S suffered a blow Friday when a British court ruled against it in a dispute with three generic makers over a patent for its top-selling antidepressant drug, Cipralex.

The three generic companies, Teva Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Generics (UK) Ltd. and Arrow Generics Ltd., filed separate complaints alleging that certain claims in Lundbeck’s Cipralex patent were invalid because they were obvious, not novel because of prior art and insufficient.
