9th Circ. Refuses To Rehear Pfizer-Wyeth Merger Suit

Law360, New York (June 14, 2011, 5:58 PM ET) -- A group of pharmacies last week lost a bid to have the Ninth Circuit reconsider the dismissal of a suit alleging the $68 billion merger of Pfizer Inc. and Wyeth in 2009 raised prices and hurt competition in the pharmaceutical market.

The Ninth Circuit issued an order June 7 refusing to reconsider its May ruling upholding the dismissal of the suit, saying the complaint failed to support allegations of “significant anti-competitive effects."
