Judge Agrees With Watson's Take On Lidoderm Patent

Law360, New York (June 28, 2011, 7:37 PM ET) -- A Delaware federal judge on Monday dealt a blow to Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. in its patent fight with Watson Laboratories Inc. over topical pain-relief patch technology, agreeing with the generic-drug maker's interpretation of the patent's language.

Endo and Teikoku Seiyaku Co. Ltd., a Japanese pharmaceutical company, sued Watson in February 2010, claiming that Watson's generic lidocaine patches infringe the technology covered by U.S. Patent No. 5,827,529, which was issued to Teikoku and licensed by Endo for use in its Lidoderm patch.
