CareFusion Hits Hospira With Infusion System IP Suit

Law360, New York (August 31, 2011, 6:36 PM ET) -- A CareFusion Corp. unit slapped Hospira Inc. with a lawsuit Tuesday, claiming that drug infusion systems including Hospira's Symbiq infringe two CareFusion patents when used with the defendant's MedNet software.

CareFusion 303 Inc.'s complaint, filed in Delaware federal court, alleges willful infringement and seeks treble damages as well as injunctive relief. The suit against Hospira comes just a day after B. Braun Medical Inc. targeted CareFusion in a patent suit related to infusion pumps, which are used to administer intravenous drugs, among other things.
