Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 7:45 PM ET) -- A Google Inc. shareholder hit current and former directors of the company with a derivative suit in Delaware on Wednesday claiming they knowingly allowed online Canadian pharmacies to illegally sell prescription drugs to U.S. customers through an advertising program.
The suit filed by Ira Szmerkes in Delaware Chancery Court follows Google's August announcement that it would forfeit $500 million under a settlement with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Rhode Island, which investigated the company over the illegal distribution of prescription drugs.
