Meda Sues 2 Cos. Over Generic Nasal Spray Patent

Law360, New York (January 23, 2012, 3:02 PM ET) -- Meda Pharmaceuticals Inc. filed a patent infringement suit in New Jersey federal court on Thursday against Apotex Inc. and Perrigo Co. over their bids to market generic versions of the company's antihistimine Astepro nasal sprays.

Apotex and Perrigo have both filed abbreviated new drug applications with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to produce generic azelastine hydrochloride nasal sprays at varying doses, which Meda says violate a patent it has on azelastine products.
