Texas Denied Waiver On Health Reform Premium Rules

Law360, New York (January 27, 2012, 7:27 PM ET) -- The federal government on Friday nixed Texas' request to delay the implementation of new health care reform rules limiting what insurance companies can spend on overhead, finding that the restrictions would not destabilize the Texas health care market.

Texas had requested the reprieve to give insurance companies a chance to revamp their systems before complying with the provision from the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
