Law360, New York (July 24, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A Chicago-based patent-holding company has sued contact lens giants Bausch & Lomb Inc. and CIBA Vision Corp. for allegedly violating a patent covering contact lenses for users with prebyopia.
Aspheric Lens Co. filed the suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, saying legal action was its last resort after the companies refused to provide information to determine if its patent for contact lenses with aspheric surfaces was being infringed.
