Sen. Looks To Close Cost Gap In Hospitals' Implant Buys

Max Baucus, D-Mont., on Friday called for hospitals to submit data on their purchases of medical device implants to federal authorities following the release of a U.S. Government Accountability Office study that shows significant variations among costs hospitals incur — and pass on to the Medicare program — for the equipment.
