Law360, New York (April 02, 2012, 1:15 PM ET) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Monday approved the long-awaited $29.1 billion merger of pharmacy benefit managers Express Scripts Inc. and Medco Health Solutions Inc., finding the union was unlikely to lessen competition in the PBM industry.
The FTC approved the deal in a 3-1 vote following a eight-month investigation, despite criticism from several politicians and trade groups that the deal will have an adverse impact on community pharmacies.
