Merge Healthcare Unit Wins $3M In Attys' Fees From Insurer

Law360, New York (May 02, 2012, 4:08 PM ET) -- Carolina Casualty Insurance Co. must pay Merge Healthcare Solutions Inc. the full amount of a $3.15 million attorneys' fees award in settled securities litigation challenging the proposed sale of the company's predecessor, an Illinois federal judge ruled Monday.

Conlon granted Merge's motion for summary judgment on Carolina's declaratory claim seeking to limit coverage for fees in a $26 million Massachusetts state court settlement.
