Chicago Mayor Seeks To End Accretive's Row With Minn. AG

Law360, New York (May 08, 2012, 6:08 PM ET) -- Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is playing peacemaker in a messy faceoff between Illinois medical billing firm Accretive Health Inc. and Minnesota's attorney general, saying in a letter released Tuesday that both sides should "cease efforts to publicly prosecute" a dispute over collection practices.

The single-page memo, addressed to Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson, lends credence to Accretive's claims that little of its business involves bedside billing in emergency rooms.
