Humana To Pay $45M To Resolve Fight Over Tricare Billing

Law360, New York (May 21, 2012, 5:02 PM ET) -- Humana Inc. said Monday it will pay $45 million to settle allegations its military insurance wing lied about government contracting rules under Tricare in order to shortchange dozens of hospitals.

The settlement's size was disclosed in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and, according to court records, covers all but four of 41 hospitals that sued Kentucky-based Humana in 2007.
