Two New Articles Add More Fuel To Avandia Fire

Law360, New York (September 12, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Casting further doubt on the safety of Avandia, a pair of new studies has emerged that contend the onetime blockbuster diabetes drug exponentially increases the chance of heart failure and heart attacks, lending another voice to the growing chorus of opposition.

This week's issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association features a pair of articles that raise more concerns about GlaxoSmithKline's Avandia medication while also pointing a finger at Actos, a similar diabetes drug marketed by Takeda.
