AstraZeneca Backs Up Call To Toss Seroquel Claims

Law360, New York (September 13, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- In response to demands for detail by the judge overseeing product liability litigation over its blockbuster drug Seroquel, drug maker AstraZeneca has submitted a 42-page brief to justify its calls to dismiss claims from the consolidated cases.

Supporting its argument that thousands of plaintiffs in the massive multidistrict litigation had made certain strict liability claims not recognized by law in two dozen states, the pharmaceutical company has presented to the judge a state-by-state analysis in support of its motion to dismiss.
