Law360, New York (June 21, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- Johnson & Johnson’s closely watched patent infringement lawsuit against rival Boston Scientific Corp. over drug-coated stents has gone to the jury following closing arguments on Monday.

In closing arguments, Patterson Belknap partner Gregory Diskant told the jury that Johnson & Johnson’s groundbreaking invention of stenting technology “revolutionized cardiology.”

Diskant claimed Boston Scientific sought a “free ride” on his client's stent innovations by using the technology without permission since 1995.

“You have to pay for the ideas you take,”Diskant said.
