Law360, New York (July 01, 2005, 12:00 AM ET) -- Brazil has informed Abbott Laboratories that it will break the company's patent on the antiretroviral drug Kaletra in the next few days unless the U.S. drug maker offers a steep price break on the HIV/AIDS drug.
Brazilian Health Minister Humberto Costa said the government would break the patent within 10 days unless the company lowers the price of the drug 42% to $1.17 per pill, according to the Financial Rimes.
