Cigna Seeks To Recover $2.5M In Allegedly False Claims

Law360, New York (August 17, 2012, 12:42 PM ET) -- Two Cigna Corp. subsidiaries filed suit in Texas federal court on Thursday alleging a pair of companies owned by an anesthesiologist violated the Employment Retirement Income Security Act by collecting more than $2.5 million in improper health care claims.

Ambulatory Health Systems LLC and Paragon Office Services LLC participated in a scheme to illegally collect funds from Cigna, falsely representing themselves as institutional providers and charging for nonexistent facility costs, the complaint claims.
