Cintas Sued By Hospital Over Junk Fax Ads For Doc Shredding

Law360, New York (August 28, 2012, 9:03 PM ET) -- A St. Louis cardiology hospital has accused business services firm Cintas Corporate Inc. of sending junk fax ads in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, in a proposed class action removed to Missouri federal court Tuesday.

St. Louis Heart Center Inc. claims Cintas had sent unsolicited faxes to hospitals associated with another St. Louis, Mo.-based hospital, SSM St. Mary's Health Center, advertising discounts for document shredding services to help them meet Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements for confidentiality of old patient files.
