AstraZeneca Fires Off 7 Suits Over Crestor ANDAs

Law360, New York (December 12, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP filed patent infringement suits against seven drug companies including Apotex Inc., Sandoz Inc. and Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. over the generics makers' bids for regulatory approval to horn in on the billion-dollar annual U.S. market for the cholesterol drug Crestor.

Crestor filed the seven lawsuits on Tuesday, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, against Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., Sandoz Inc., Par Pharmaceutical Inc., Aurobindo Pharma Ltd., Cobalt Pharmaceuticals Inc., Mylan and Apotex.
